The Human Relationship

Why do we loose our interest in other’s lives?  How can a decision to invest in a life suddenly fade?  Christ never looses interest in us, does he?  Then it all makes sense…  He’s interested in us for our good… we tend to be interested in others for selfish reasons, right?  It’s a slap in the face, well deserved.  It’s too bad, we stick around as long as there’s some kind of reward.  People don’t relate to other people simply out of love.  There’s the “I’ll be friends with this person because they’re non-Christian”, there’s also the “I’ll be friends with this person because they are Christian”, and of course there’s the “I’ll be friends with this person because I like them, or I can get something from them.”  Where’s the “I’m called to love, I’ll love regardless.”?

I don’t see it.  It makes me sick.  We all try so hard to quench feelings of acceptance, possession and the dealings of our own needs that we’re really worthless to each other…  that’s right…  worthless to each other.  But it’s a community of people who all live the same selfish lives, right?  We’re all happy with worthlessness.  We all understand that we’re all selfish.

Peh…  We should be better than this.

Ignore this post if you’re offended, I’m only preaching to myself.

I love your background & i totally agree with your post –  Ok, so just a thought for the day by someone brilliant (not me)… “For in God’s silence, there are a thousand words.”  I love that.  It’s just wonderful and so meaningful and true.  Sometimes I think God is testing us when He’s “silent” – just testing our faith and perseverance through shadowy times.  But, always remember that God will never give you anything you can’t handle, so even though it seems like it’s too big and too hard, God has faith in us and knows we can make it through!  Have a great weekend
