“Point B” was to be the big debut release for my wife and I’s band “Ananias”. In 2010 my wife and I had won a national songwriting contest with many perks (new equipment from Fender, recording opportunity with Integrity and one of TobyMac’s producers, TV spot on the Gospel Music Channel), which felt like an open door that led us to leave Arizona and move to Georgia. We moved in 2011, and spent the first year or so in GA fixing up a foreclosed house we purchased, building a home studio in the basement, and working really hard on this album.

However, before we reached the finish line, our life had started moving in too many other directions. We had jobs, we had other projects, and eventually we had kids. The few shows we played seemed to become less realistic and we lost reasons to finish recording an album we wouldn’t have opportunities to share in any meaningful or exciting way.

I’m really proud of what’s here. It’s felt “close to finished” for so long that I’ve often been tempted to return to it. However when it comes down to it, more than a decade has passed, and the ship seems to have sailed. It remains one of my best musical works. Hopefully it can be appreciated for what it is!

Who knows, maybe I’ll dust off my project files and “finish” these someday still.
