Last week I sent a very blunt e-mail to the pastor of the church where I’ve been leading worship… which led to a meeting with the pastor and the elders of the church, yesterday after service. I expressed a certian dissapointment with where God has me, saying that the expression of worship the church wants is something that I can “pull off”, but that it’s a false identiy I’d feel trapped in the whole time. (“expressed a certian dissapointment” sorry… I’ll stop trying to sound smart)
I went seeking direction. I expected a few Bible verses on being faithful. The elders and I decided that God has had me at the church just to get things going. January will be my last month there. It’s kind of strage that I’m moving on after only 3 months, but It’s exciting to see how things work out. In one week, God brought together an entire team. I’m just a spark, but that’s all God needs to work with. Again I’m reminded that I don’t have control, I just gotta’ keep trusting.
My parents joke with me, saying that my calling is to be an apostle; to get stuff started only to leave. Hahah, I love my family.
*update*

hello, good sir. my name is patrick. i’m a friend of ryan’s from Campus Crusade.
i really like your song. i can definitely recognize the presence of God running through it.
i’d say, ‘too bad about your worship thing’ but i think it’s for the best considering what the situation sounds like. i think God wouldn’t want you to stay in a place like that for too long. 🙂 i’m sure that God has great things for you ahead.
