On Saturday, there was an “acoustic night” at Java Junction (Jess’ brother Billy and his wife Ally’s coffee shop).  We went and listened to some guitarists playing and singing.   One of the guys that got up sounded really good, just doing 3 songs.  Foreshadow is playing Dec 9th, so we’re looking to get a good band together.  I invited this guy, named Trystan (or Trysten?) over to practice with us.  It was awesome.

I guess he’s been playing with his band in China for over 10-years, but just moved here because his wife’s grandmother (who lives here) is getting older and they wanted to look after her.  He was perfect for making the cheesy little songs I wrote over a year ago (and kinda rewrote with Jess recently) sound 10-times better.

Anyway, I’m asking for some prayer.  It’s evident that being raised in China has very little opportunity to get to know God, or even want to at all. He seems to really like doing music with us us because the other 2 bands he’s played with in the short time he’s been here are both country bands (he shares my um…  lack of passion for country music).

Possibly, I’ve been provided with an amazing guitarist for our band, but more importantly, a ministry opportunity to lead Trystan and his wife (Dawn) to The Lord.  I can’t correctly handle either on my own.  Please ask God to help me if you can and to begin to open the hearts of these great new friends.

Thanks
