A Choice (song idea)

I’m hoping to share some raw song ideas every once in a while on here.  I enjoy writing as a way to process life, not necessarily always in hopes that anyone ever hears some of my songs.  At the same time, I feel like some of those songs may be something someone would enjoy or even connect to and gleam from.

So with no further intention than to share something unpolished that may forever stay unpolished, here’s one of my latest song ideas:

Lyrics:

Sometimes I think the curtain’s about to drop
Give the audience back what it cost
to believe with everything they’ve got…

It’s like I fooled everyone but me
Or maybe I’m the fool, caught up in grief
And I can’t see the progress from my knees

If there’s ever a time to get up,
it’s when you realize it’s all you’ve got
I never had any more to give
Than a choice to give my all

I tend forget; there’s just one me
One lifetime, mind and body
tragedy or legacy

And even though I’m hurting, I can see
There’s more than pain now happening
Which will remain as burdens fade

If there’s ever a time to get up
It’s when you realize it’s all you’ve got
I never had any more to give
Than a choice to give my all
I only have a choice – to give my all
I only have a choice – to give my all

If there’s ever a time to get up
It’s when you realize it’s all you’ve got
I never had any more to give
Than a choice to give my all
I only have a choice – to give my all
I only have a choice – to give my all
