Jess’ Birthday
This month, the most beautiful woman grew another year more gorgeous. We took a day to celebrate in Atlanta!
MuteMath Concert
On the 18th, Jess and I got enjoy a MuteMath show with our new buds Andrew and Jeremy Hicks. What a great show it was.
Playing at the Newnan Spring Art Walk
The Spring Art Walk is one of the many events that Mainstreet Newnan throws together throughout the year on the square downtown. Since I work at Ken’s Bargain Outlet there, it was a perfect opportunity to begin playing some of our music locally. We played through a 7-song set three times throughout the night (4 of our new songs, 3 Covers).
Sorry, no pictures this time, but here’s a low quality video clip.
Music Progress
Between all of the busy days of our week, we’ve been slowly-but-surely laying down tracks and making progress on our album.
From the chart we’ve been using, it may not seem like it, but we’re about half way done with tracking (the first few columns take most of the time). Hopefully we’ll be sharing some little sneak clips here before long. (Song list below may not be what finally makes it onto the album).
House Progress
This month we decided we’d better get back to continuing our house projects a bit. Finishing it has turned into one of the last things we’ve had time for …but it’s SO close to done that we need to wrap it up. I’m excited to do a mad-crazy before and after video.
Jess’ most recent project was the painting of our counter tops. That was a fun surprise to come home to! They turned out great 🙂 She’s got plans to paint the cabinets white and I owe her a marble-top island too…
While Jess has been working on her improvements (not to mention the “spring cleaning” and most of the chores), I’ve only made time to work on new floors in the guest bathroom. I still have to reattach the baseboards and stuff, but these new sticky tiles look way better than the nasty torn up and stained stuff that was there before.
Planting Things
Weather’s been great in Georgia this month. Outside our bedroom window, we have a great view of the blooming dogwood trees.
With the sudden plant life happening, we (mostly Jess) have decided to put a bunch of junk in the ground and see if it grows… (it does)
Now that we have some flowers, a magnolia tree, a peach tree and an apple tree in place, we started to also get a little vegetable garden going.
As always, thanks for keeping up with the latest.
