Well… the WILDEST ones are ones that should probably never come true… but the next best ones are.
Since my last post, the Lord has just been growing in me the desire to spend my time doing things with eternal value. Hard work is good, but it feels empty if there’s not some other kind of motive… such as being a witness to a co-worker or customer in some way. I really want to serve what God’s doing within His body, because I can see that very few, including myself before last week, ever even think about it and the need is tremendous.
I had a talk with my pastor yesterday over breakfast. First we started talking about the direction of the worship team, since the current worship leader is leaving soon. There are two of us interested in leading me (of course) and a lady probably about in the same category as the Hillsongs woman, as far as style. I think we pretty much decided on a “co-leader” position to be established between she and I, but the Pastor still has to talk to her and then both of us together. This position would be one that I may receive from the church to be a paid one… and also include me leading the youth’s worship and possibly tasks like cleaning the church once a week and stuff. For the money Pastor Andrew wants to pay, this is quite a deal… a salary about the same amount that I’m making working at the Cabinet Shop… which is some really hard work some days.
I was really excited about the idea of being open to help and serve anyone at anytime, without the worry of money and all that. Andrew, also excited, who happens to be the director of the local Youth for Christ, shot back at me a second ministry-based job offer. Working for Youth for Christ, I would basically go to three different schools around here each week and help oversee their self-run Christian club. The payment for this, if I happen to get the job, would also be about equal to what I’m making right now building cabinets. Having these two jobs would leave me, first of all, with the ability to be in ministry full time, and second of all, with the time to be able to continue to write/record/produce our music, as well as other things like working on the gaming project and making our yard look less trashy.
Well, the interview is on Monday for Youth for Christ, and I’m sure all kinds of conversations will be going on between the pastor and church elders in the next few months. Also, this big show Foreshadow is playing is on Saturday. I’d appreciate prayers of all kinds from the awesome homies, which are powerful and effective.
Wild as in wilderness?! Lets go camping.
