Oh man that was hilarious! I’m sending it out in an e-mail to EVERYONE.
Yes, it took a while before I had the confidence to really sing out. I never used a mic until I came here, and before coming here I just joined a little group. It was just since coming here they forced me to use a mic (what prompted me to join them in the first place, I’m not quite sure…). I’ve done a lot of growing, however, and now I just get up there and do it – they’ve all heard me mess up before, so what is there to be nervous about? Now that I’m not worried about them and what they’re thinking of me, I can focus on what’s important – and I love it. I never imagined I’d be in charge of the worship for any group, but here I am. God’s funny that way. Heck, I never even sang publicly until my senior year of college when one of my friends discovered I could sing and started pushing the boundaries of my comfort zone.
Once I get back to the states I doubt I’ll be in any sort of worship group for a while – but that’s what I thought when I came here. There’s one place that one of our former worship leaders went, and I’m sure if I end up there with him he’ll probably rope me into it again. At any rate, once I leave here I hope I find another group of worship leaders to sing with, at least occasionally.
God saw me through another round of exams – He’s the one who has gotten me this far, make no doubt about that. I have prayed SO much since starting med school….
Yeah, I’m so thankful for the mistakes I make when doing worship. Like you said, it’s not important and a mistake is a good test to see if I’m really worshiping or just trying to do a good job.
*aahhh* makes me laugh. Every day I’ve been back here has been a looney toon adventure(@) I
I snooped your web out and saw that you and Seen are friends. I saw your pictures on his web– you can see them still, yeah yeah, I hear you sayin it already ((no duh)) You have nice writings on yours and Seen has nice visuals—I like reading both at the same time ;}0 You should write something about Christmas on there.
So, the Charlie Brown Christmas was on tv earlier. And I sat in front of it with the lit tree in the living room with my granny’s cat snuggled next to me. It was rather picturesque. But, man, it gets me every time at the end when Linus just whips out the Christmas story, straight from Luke 2, right there on national tv, and goes, “That’s what Christmas is all about Charlie Brown!” It’s like the gospel message right there. I love it! (Oh, and ask me sometime to do my impression of Linus for you; I’ve been told it’s a good one.)
thank you for writing me. Some people don’t even write back on heya(no names *cough–s–e–e–n–cough*)
