I’m gunna’ pull a Sean and do more than one post today.
I just had lunch with my dad. Wow.
My dad has always been one to make logical choices. For as long as I’ve been around, his actions have been based on “Christian common sense”. He needed a car, he bought a car, and so on, doing whatever needs to be done without conflicting with what violates his model of holiness. He’s been a great Christian man for over 20 years, but I’ve never seen him like this.
He is so hungry for God right now. After being in the leadership for 16 years of a church that died, he’s come to a point of absolute sincerety and sacrifice. He’s doing whatever he can to push himself out of the way and let God work on him. It’s so inspiring.
He got rid of his TV service for the first time ever. He said that when he prays he has visions now, that God is speaking to him and loving on him like he never knew was real. He’s humbled himself to leadership, something which he once held. He decided to just open himself up and let God command every step of his life. He told me how he prays about everything now, not out of religion or self-righteousness, but out of surrender to God’s lordship. It blows my mind to see something so radical for an aging man and a mature Christian. I see my father surrendering everything all just to enable God to bless him so much more. Ahh… I love it. Thank you Lord! You are so good!
thats awesome bro! way to go adams dad!
Wow, amen! Praise God for such an awesome display of humility and full surrender. Hallelujah!
Amen Brother! I am glad to know you have such a Godly example to follow after in your own home. I think our earthly fathers shape many of the perceptions and perhaps misconceptions we have of God the Father. I am happy to know that your father is also a Brother in Christ. Shalom
