Intro:

Welcome to the production page for this collaborative worship project! I created this page as something that will grow and change as the songs each progress over the many months it’ll take to finish the whole album.

If you find yourself here, it’s likely because I’m hoping you’ll share your talents, time, and heart for the Lord (and His people) by helping me with input, writing, recording and/or producing and then sharing this album!

Please take a minute to read about the inspiration for this album here (will open in a new tab). I hope this will help set the tone and passion for why this is project and your help are both very important to me!

Then continue checking in for the latest versions of the 7 songs below!

Note on Song Sheets: You’ll have to follow the “Lyrics and chords” link to see the most up to date Google Doc.
Just here to listen to all the songs (in their current state)? There’s a continuous playlist at the bottom.

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven…”
Song 1: “Our Father God”
Lyrics and Chords

Last updated 12/20/2024 (Version 12):
Updated Mix. Cleaned some noise I was only hearing through my in-ears.

Production Ideas: While it’s sounding close to finished, I’m still open to features/collaboration on this song up until when the whole album is completed! I can imagine another vocalist (or two) carrying parts of this song better than I do currently… as well as replacing or laying onto my harmony vocals and backup vocals (at various octaves).

“….Hallowed be thy name…”

Song 2: “Hallowed”
Lyrics and Chords

Last updated 12/20/2024 (Version 8):
Recorded some concert chimes to layer on a few parts of the song. Updated mix sounding better, but I still need to work on some of the lyrics and track all the vocals again (including featured vocalist/s).

Production Ideas: I need to build some electric guitar parts in. May replace some of the acoustic guitar and synth parts, once I get things built up better. I hope some female vocalists can help carry the “Hallowed” vocal part behind the chorus/bridge (at least!).

“…Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven…”

Song 3: “King of Heaven and Earth”
Lyrics and Chords

Last updated 1/25/2023 (Version 7):
Added several guitar parts, bass and drums in the last couple of weeks.

Production Ideas: Since I’m still using my rough & raw scratch vocal, the song really needs some writing and updated vocal parts (lead, harmony, some BG choral ideas). I feel like the initial lyrics heard here might be too cliché, but I haven’t had the chance to dig in more yet!

I left my old lead guitar parts (the melody in the intro and throughout) in the song, even though my buddy Clark put some really slick guitar (and bass) parts throughout the verses and chorus. I’m not sure if they clash, but they weren’t “supposed” to go together. Since they surprisingly work, I’ll let them ride for now. That melody may be served better from keys instead of having like 5 different guitar parts.
Key of G, 120 bpm

“…Give us this day our daily bread…”

Song 4: “My Provider”
Lyrics and Chords

Last updated 12/20/2024 (version 3)
With the increased tempo (from 82 to 90), I pretty much started this whole song over. Tried a different approach on the acoustic guitars to leave room for electric layers and leads (not recorded yet). I messed with vocal parts and lyrics a little bit, but those are still a work in progress/need to track all vocals and get a featured vocalist in there.

Production Ideas: I keep hearing this as a “duet” by 2 male vocs. The first would stack onto the second as a harmony on VS 2, letting vocalist 2 lead VS2, CH2, then perhaps switching back to vocalist 1 for the outro/tag. The Intro and Outro use the same progression, so could duplicate the vocal melody of the outro as an instrumental intro. I have some concert chimes I’d like to use to replace the bell digital instrument that’s there currently. The song will benefit a lot from some better drums and “U2” guitars.
Key of G, 90bpm

“…And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors…”

Song 5: “Unburdened”
Lyrics and Chords

Last updated 6/20/2023:
“Scratch Track”. Rough idea only so far. Need to finalize lyrics. This version has some BGV ideas on all 3 chorus (each unique). I think I like “A” for chorus 1, “B” for chorus 2 and “A+B” for Chorus 3… which is how I currently have it laid out. I might need to simplify into a single layered part.

Production Ideas: Keep it a bit somber. I might be interested in hearing it without guitars or drums until Chorus 2 (bass / synth / keys only). Would be nice to have several other vocalists doing the “ensamble” on the chorus (esp. the higher octave).
Key of Bb, 70bpm

“…And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil…”

Song 6: “Our Defender”
Lyrics and Chords

Last updated 5/19/2023:
“Scratch Track”. Rough idea only so far. Need to finalize lyrics.

This one got some solid collaborative writing done on it in early January (Clark B.), but those new lyrics haven’t been fully-written or tracked yet. (The Google Doc is currently a mess resembling several ideas that need refinement)

Production Ideas: Feels like a Passion / Kristian Stanfill song in my mind (“Always” or “God, You’re So Good”). Maybe I can pull from that vibe a bit. Hearing echoes of “save” and “grave” on the chorus. Intro will likely have the bridge melody, played on lead guitar, or other instrument.
Key of C, 75bpm.

“…For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”

Song 7: “Kingdom, Power, Glory”
Lyrics and Chords

Last updated 6/20/2023:
“Scratch Track”. Rough idea only so far. Need to finalize lyrics. Added some outro vocal ideas (rough, especially that higher octave, which should be replaced by a female vocalists ASAP lol)

Production Ideas: Initially this was a “BIG” song. I felt like stripping it down when I wrote the verses, to create some contrast to the resolve of the chorus. It can probably build up quite a bit for the last (sneak-attack) chorus. For the outro, I might like to hear as many voices as possible, mixed like a huge congregation (“Heaven”)… maybe the music dissipates and that chorus (vocals only) seems to slow-fade over the next minute (or two?).
Key of G

Here’s a continuous playlist, if you just want to listen to the current state of the whole project.

I’ll try to update this frequently as the tracks above, but the above versions will definitely be more-current, if this playlist gets behind.
