I had high ambitions with this project. I stopped working at TMCC around the beginning of 2009 due to plans to move to Georgia in pursuit of our music career as Ananias. We weren’t actually planning on moving until the summer however, so I spent the months in between preparing our Arizona house to go on the market, along with other projects. One such project was this project titled “The Life, The Way”.
The plan with it was to give back to the church an album of the songs I had most frequently led them in worship with, as a way of saying “Thank you for allowing me to serve you as a Worship Pastor, along with other roles for these past few years”. Since this project was never finished, I never had a gift in the form of making that statement with. This music project still isn’t finished and probably won’t ever be… though I’d entertain the thought of just wrapping up the raw unmixed state of the tracks.
Here are the songs that were progressed enough to even amount to actual music. Even then, most of these are unfinished, to varying degrees:
Album Progress Notes:
Marvelous Light – was nearly completed
Song of Hope (Heaven Come Down) – was nearly completed
Hosanna – raw: The only thing complete is some baseline instrumentation. The vocals heard are actually from the scratch track, which is defective (i.e. gross digital distortion throughout).
No Not One – was nearly completed
God of Justice – was nearly completed
Captivated – incomplete: Was planning on more vocals (Jess) and more takes for the lead vocal. The vocal heard is a raw 1-take.
Lift Us Up to Fall – incomplete: Needed more instrumentation and vocals. The vocal heard is a raw 1-take.
Majesty – raw: Like “Hosanna” only the baseline instrumentation is complete and the heard vocals are in the defective scratch track (sorry about the digital distortion throughout).
Our God – incomplete: Vocals needed lots of work, including a re-tracking of the lead vocals and Jess’ presence. Instrumentation was also left flimsier than I’d have liked.
