The world of Raeos was given to a vast pool of humanoid races of mortals, called Dynis. There were once thousands of different kinds of Dynis that populated Raeos, in the age of Nectira, but as the centuries passed, these races narrowed into 12 main racial categories: Hongo, Cylis, Tygon, Repson, Shalese, Orgbod, Lathan, Kolondrian, Draknus, Teroseus, Dromil and Virikune.

Nectira was the only Dynis of her kind, once filling the roll as the 12th race, but later replaced by the Virikune, who were exiled to Raeos and became a common race.

Each race strand became known for key features, supernatural powers, and cultural attributes.

Hongo
Exhibit feline / canine characteristics, known for the ability to cast various elemental charges onto their arms and hands. They often wear bracelets to help control the form and function of the element being summoned and used.

Cylis
Large-eared mammals who exhibit features similar to rabbits and kangaroos. Their songs can attract and command various insects, and their tail is filled with enchanting energy.

Tygon
With green, smooth skin, a short fat tail, and a row of tentacles growing from the back of the scalp, the Tygon have a positive reaction to precious stones, often enchanted into cuffs that adorn the tentacles, or made into armor, providing various enhancements and uses to the Tygon.

Repson
The closest relative to Nectira, exhibiting dragon-like features (spikes, scales), including the ability to shoot various elemental streams and balls from their mouth.

Shalese
Exhibiting elk / deer-like features, this tall and nimble race is fast, agile, and able to grow natural formations of plant-life on their body, for protection, concealment, combat, and productivity.

Orgbod
Exhibiting fish-like and amphibian features, these warriors prefer the safety and abundance of life in their underwater cities, but can also live fine on land, provided plenty of water. The Orgbod society is very much built around a gladiatorial hierarchy, often wielding tridents, spears or sabers.

Lathan

Kolondrian
Resembling naturally-advanced humans, the Kolondrian have a tendency to form smaller, roaming clans.

Draknus
A feathered race with beaks, and a version of the power of flight. Although they don’t have wings, they can propel themselves through the air for a short time. This aids in other ways, as they use their momentum to dash, push, slide and ram.

Teroseus
“Burnt Ones”

Dromil
Preferring the caves and constructed labyrinths of Raeos, this mining race has ossicones growing from their heads, which can produce light – from a dull glow, to a blinding blast of light. Dromil also use their ossicones to track and analyze different rocks, ores, and precious stones / gems. Their grey skin is covered in a combination of shells and patches of fur.

Virikune
This mysterious race from another world was exiled when the Yarku left Raeos, and successfully overtook the Virikune world of Ebb’Dyl. The Virikune sought safety on Raeos, bringing along their otherworldly sciences and tech. The Virikune have glowing, iridescent eyes and veins of skin, visibile between plates of flexible tissue exoskeleton. Virikune prefer to live hovering above the chaos of Raoes below, in their drifting airships.
